Clontarf's first Midsummer festival fun day will take place this 19th June on the promenade adjacent to Vernon Avenue, with the support of Dublin City Council

Clontarf Village Traders, in association with Dublin City Council, announces a day of fun to celebrate Midsummer on Saturday 19th of June. The party starts on Clontarf Promenade (at the bottom of Vernon Avenue) with words of welcome from Lord Mayor of Dublin, Emer Costello. Then MC Ray Shah kicks off some old-fashioned merriment for the little ‘uns, from three-legged races to face painting to bouncy castles. Folks of all ages will be inspired by a karate demonstration and Michael Carruth is all set to give us a taste of his southpaw.

Children will be wowed by a visit from our little friends at the Reptile Zoo who will join the festivities, along with some much furrier types from Conor Lambert’s Custard Pie Puppet Company.

All through the afternoon complimentary refreshments will be served up on the seafront by the foodie businesses amongst Clontarf Village Traders …to fortify the revellers.

Meanwhile, the Clontarf Village Traders have pledged to get down and dirty during the grown ups’ Tug of War later in the afternoon…. brings new meaning to the term ‘healthy competition’! Before they get carried away altogether, the entertainment will move to Vernon Avenue, where Irish folk rock band Mutefish and performers from Comhaltas Ceoltóirí will set a beat to the celebration of Midsummer.

Laugh out loud, breathe in that salty air and be part of Clontarf Village’s Midsummer mischief.
